Daily Duas - Islamic Supplication

“And remember your Lord within yourself in humility and in fear without being apparent in speech – in the mornings and the evenings. And do not be among the heedless.”

(Quran 7:205)

In the Islamic tradition, the concept of worship extends far beyond the formal acts of prayer, fasting, and pilgrimage. Every moment of a Muslim’s day — every activity, every transition, every emotion, every need — has within it the potential to become an act of worship through the simple but profound act of remembering Allah. This is the purpose of Islamic supplications — the authentic duas that the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ prescribed for every occasion of daily life, transforming the ordinary into the sacred and keeping the Muslim heart connected to Allah from the first breath of the morning to the last breath of the night.

The Prophet ﷺ was not a man who reserved his remembrance of Allah for the prayer mat. He made dua when he woke up, when he dressed, when he left his home, when he entered his home, when he ate, when he finished eating, when he boarded a vehicle, when he saw something that pleased him, when he saw something that worried him, when he heard thunder, when he looked at the moon, when he visited a sick person, when he attended a funeral, when he felt pain in his body, and when he lay down to sleep. His entire day was a continuous, conscious, joyful conversation with Allah — and through his Sunnah, he made that same programme available to every Muslim who follows his example.

“And your Lord said: Call upon Me — I will respond to you.” (Quran 40:60)

These words — direct, unconditional, and unlimited — represent one of the most extraordinary promises in all of divine revelation. Not “call upon Me when you are worthy.” Not “call upon Me after you have purified yourself sufficiently.” Not “call upon Me through an intermediary who will present your request.” Simply — call upon Me. I will respond. The door is always open. The line is never busy. The audience is always granted.

This is dua — and this is why the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ described dua as “the very essence of worship.”

Our Daily Duas section is dedicated to helping every Muslim take full advantage of this extraordinary gift — by providing the specific, authentic supplications that the Prophet ﷺ himself made for every occasion and moment of the day, taught to his companions, preserved across generations, and passed down to every Muslim alive today as a living, breathing connection to the prophetic tradition.

Why Dua Matters

In a world that offers the Muslim constant distraction, constant noise, and constant pressure to forget what actually matters — daily duas are the antidote. They are the moments of conscious reconnection scattered throughout the day that prevent the Muslim heart from drifting too far from Allah before being called back. The dua before eating reminds the Muslim that their sustenance comes from Allah. The dua before leaving the home reminds them that their protection lies with Allah. The dua before sleeping places the soul in the hands of Allah for the night. The dua upon waking gives thanks to the One who returned the soul for another day.

These are not merely formulaic phrases to be repeated without thought. They are each specific, purposeful acts of worship — some drawn directly from the Quran, others from the authenticated Sunnah of the Prophet ﷺ — that transform the most mundane moments of daily life into continuous remembrance of Allah, building over the course of a day into a comprehensive, prophetically prescribed programme of dhikr that keeps the Muslim heart alive, connected, and protected throughout every waking hour.

The Importance of Authentic Sources

Not all duas that circulate among Muslims today are authentic. Some are fabricated. Some have no basis in the Quran or Sunnah. Some carry exaggerated virtues that were invented rather than narrated. This is why the question of authenticity — of knowing that a dua comes from a verified, authenticated source — matters enormously for every Muslim who takes their worship seriously.

Every supplication presented in our Islamic Supplications category is drawn from authenticated sources — primarily the major hadith collections of Imam Bukhari and Imam Muslim, followed by the Sunan and other verified collections — with the source and scholarly grading clearly stated for every dua. We do not present weak or fabricated supplications as authentic. We do not attribute virtues to duas that have not been authentically narrated. Because the duas of the Prophet ﷺ are so extraordinarily rich, so comprehensive, and so beautiful that there is no need to supplement them with anything invented — and because a Muslim’s worship deserves to be built on solid, verified ground.
